Privacy policy

Nói works without an account. This page explains what is stored, where, and how to remove it.
Without signing in
Your progress (XP, streak, flashcard schedule, exercise scores, finished lessons) is saved only in your browser's local storage on your device. It is not sent to us.
The home page picks your language from your browser's language setting. We do not store that choice.
If you sign in with Google
Signing in is optional. Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We store them together with your progress so it follows you across devices.
We set one cookie, noi_session. It is HttpOnly, keeps you signed in for 30 days and is used for nothing else. The Google sign-in script is loaded from Google only when the sign-in button is shown, and is covered by Google's own privacy policy.
Hosting and logs
The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the pages you request, and keeps technical logs to run and protect the service.
Analytics
If we measure visits, we use a privacy-friendly tool that sets no cookies, does not follow you across sites and does not build a profile of you.
Speaking practice
If you use “Say it yourself”, your browser asks for the microphone. The recording is analysed on your device and is never uploaded to or stored by us.
Only if you tick the word check does your browser's own speech recognition hear the recording. In Chrome and Edge that service is run by Google or Microsoft and may send the audio to them under their privacy policies.
Offline use
To work without a connection, the site can keep audio files and pages you have opened in your browser's cache. You can clear them in your browser settings.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time. “Delete account” in the account menu permanently removes your name, email, picture and saved progress from our database. “Reset progress” on the progress page clears your progress, and clearing your browser data removes everything stored on your device.
The site is not directed at children under 13.
