Pattern

A + adj + hơn + B

To compare, put hơn (more) after the adjective: Hà Nội lạnh hơn Sài Gòn. For “the most”, put nhất after it: Đây là món ngon nhất. Use bằng nhau for “equal”.

Tip: Adjectives follow the noun: nhà lớn = a big house.

Examples

  • Hà Nội lạnh hơn Sài Gòn.

    Hanoi is colder than Saigon.

  • Đây là món ngon nhất.

    This is the most delicious dish.

  • Cái này rẻ hơn cái kia.

    This one is cheaper than that one.

  • Mùa thu đẹp nhất.

    Autumn is the most beautiful.
